“Special Moments created into Forever Memories”
Ali Fleming, Founder of Harmony Glass, “Encasing shared memories from any lifetime event into a piece of bespoke glass art.”
I am Ali Fleming, and I would like to introduce you to “The Harmony Glass Experience”, a standalone service and product available for the ceremony marketplace.
As a celebrant and business owner of Cariad Personal Ceremonies, I am always looking for fresh ideas to offer the couples and families that I have the pleasure of working alongside.
“The Harmony Glass Experience” is an innovative product and service, which can be included into any lifetime ceremony. Commemorate a Wedding, Renewal of Vows, Naming ceremony or a Celebration of Life, funeral or a memorial service of a loved one.
Where it all began..
When I first started my celebrancy business, I was a sole distributor for a glass company operating out of the US. The company franchised out to a European arm, which wasn’t successful, mainly due to the same product being offered and the costs of shipping escalating the overall product cost…. Since that day, I’ve had an idea in the back of my mind to set up my own business with a similar but very different slant.
I have also been on the lookout for a local glassblower since this time. On attending a marketing course nearly three years ago, I bumped into the talented Kayleigh Young Glass, who was about to take over a local glass studio over the coming months. I was immediately impressed by her great talent and flair. I set about asking Kayleigh to design for me four different styled pieces to be the Harmony Glass collection. With tweaks and additions, the four shapes were born and named accordingly: The Twist, The Totem, The Tipi and the large Teardrop. Alongside this there were four further smaller shapes to choose from – The Paperweight (available in two sizes), The Egg (available in two sizes), The Hanging Hearts (two different designs), a Hanging Bauble, and the newest addition: the Baby Teardrop.
The collaboration was born ….
Harmony Glass is born
Using the glass designs to take along with me to my meetings with clients, I quickly realised this was a popular concept. The majority of my couples have since chosen to have the “Harmony Glass Experience” as part of their ceremony package.
Some clients have asked for specific different shapes to the four key ones available. I am in the hands of Kayleigh when asking for certain pieces to be made bespoke to the couples wanted style and theme. But so far, she has made some truly amazing pieces for families so it is always worth asking me if there is some particular shape you are looking for.
As a funeral celebrant, I have been honoured to write and deliver funeral services for many families, who are sadly facing the distressing task of saying goodbye to their loved ones.
With the death of children, sometimes stillborn, sometimes only a few years old… As a mother of two healthy and vibrant sons, I wouldn’t even like to say that I understand the pain that parents must experience at this horrific time.
When designing the Harmony Glass items, it was with families in mind that I chose a unique way to present the ashes of their loved ones within something so visibly beautiful and bespoke, encasing those precious forever memories.
A recent addition to the collection is the Baby Teardrop, which sits alongside all the other pieces in the collection, which are available to view throughout the website.
These following two local charities are close to my heart, and as a business, I am always looking to be able to support and give back into the community wherever possible.
The Luca Foundation
I recently met with Sharon Luca-Chatha, who has set up a charity in memory of her little boy Luca who was born sleeping in 2012. At the time, she was unable to take Luca home to extend the time he could be with her and her husband, as a cold cuddle-cot was not available for their use.
The Luca Foundation is a charity that has been set up to raise funds to buy cuddle cots to distribute to maternity hospitals across the UK. The charity also offers a repair and service contract for the hospitals to ensure that they are available to parents, who are experiencing the same trauma.
More details about the foundation can be found at www.thelucafoundation.co.uk
Maria Hanson MBE and her partner Mark, campaign tirelessly for funds for me&dee. Their important work enables families with shortened life spans the opportunity to enjoy a short break in a wonderful brand-new forest lodge, based within the grounds of Sherwood Forest, Derbyshire.

In support of both charities’ quests to raise as many funds as they can, Harmony Glass will donate a split profit to each cause for each piece purchased and completed with ashes.
